{"id":1696,"date":"2023-08-30T16:28:11","date_gmt":"2023-08-30T14:28:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.studiobriola.it\/?p=1696"},"modified":"2023-08-30T16:28:11","modified_gmt":"2023-08-30T14:28:11","slug":"generative-ai-and-advocacy-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.studiobriola.it\/en\/news\/generative-ai-and-advocacy-guidelines\/","title":{"rendered":"GENERATIVE AI AND ADVOCACY: GUIDELINES"},"content":{"rendered":"[vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]The eruption of artificial intelligence engines in the various professional sectors has brought with it a heated debate on the correct use of technology in the exercise of the various professions, including, in particular, in the legal profession.<\/span><\/span> It is enough to remember the “Robo-Lawyer” of the American start-up Do Not Pay or the case of New York lawyers fined for having filed a deed reporting a false case generated by ChatGPT to perceive the topicality and scope of the topic in the forensic landscape.<\/span><\/span> In this regard, the New Technologies Commission of the Federation des Barreaux d’Europe has prepared a report entitled “European Lawyers in the Gpt Chat Era – Guidelines for Maximizing the Opportunities Offered by Large Linguistic Models and Generative Artificial Intelligence<\/span><\/span> \u201d, thus offering precise instructions for the use of AI according to the principles that govern the profession.<\/span><\/span> In particular, the document refers to principles such as the understanding of technology, the integration – and not the replacement – of skills, attention to respect for professional secrecy and the protection of personal data, the obligation to inform customers and the<\/span><\/span> related accountability.<\/span><\/span> Although these are not exhaustive guidelines, these aim to represent the compass of the lawyer who intends to rely on artificial intelligence in the exercise of the profession.<\/span><\/span> In conclusion, in the perspective of a widespread dissemination of specialized AI engines, i.e. engines specifically designed for the various professional sectors, including the forensic one, the FBE report stands as a fundamental starting point for an informed and responsible use of generative AI from<\/span><\/span> part of the lawyers.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
